Numbers 27-29

Today reading starts out with Zelophehad's daughters approaching the Tent of Meeting.  After the censes was taken land was divided amongst first born males.  Zelophehad's daughters did not think it was fair that their father's name would not live on in the land b/c he did not have a son.  He was a faithful follower of the Lord, and they felt his relatives should be given some property.  Moses took their request to the Lord and the Lord agreed.  Go girls!

Further on in Chapter 27 it was stated that Joshua would be the successor of Moses.  He was given authority and the Israelite community was to obey him.  This was the second time that the topic of Moses' upcoming death was addressed.  Moses did not question the Lord.
