I spent a lot of time during today's reading and trying to think about all these people making all these offerings to confess their sins. A lot of the people weren't even aware they had sinned. So, is this reading related in any way to confession in the Catholic faith?
I had a hard time understanding some of the reading from today, but one of the little devotions in my Bible helped tremendously! It relates mainly to the Guilt Offering, but could be applied to most of them. It talks about how frustrating it would be to be accountable for all of these violations that you committed without even knowing it. You would feel like you couldn't do anything right or good enough. It all leads up to the ultimate sacrifice of Jesus, when He offered Himself on the cross and paid the debt of all of our sins. This wiped out all sin and sacrifice. It definitely gave an eaiser perspective to think of it this way. Some days it's so hard to read about all the sin, death, and other evil when we know Jesus. We seem to have to constantly remind ourselves that Jesus has not been born yet in our current readings. -Julie
