April 25 - 2 Kings 22-23

I LOVED what Josiah did in today's reading.  He was a leader that was set on following the Lord.  He found the book of Law that Moses wrote and read it.  He was very angry after reading it.  He couldn't believe how far people had drifted from the way of the Lord.  He wasn't going to allow it anymore.  Josiah called together all elders and read the book to them.  He then had them all pledge themselves to the covenant.

He headed out to take care of business.  He.....smashed false idols.....shut down evil establishments.....he was not going to allow so much sin on his watch.

2 Kings 23:25:  Neither before nor after Josiah was there a king like him who turned to the Lord as he did-with all his heart and with all his soul and with all his strength, in accordance with all the Law of Moses.

Can you imagine a leader coming in and doing that now.  Would anyone be elected to the US Legislature running on that platform?  Shutting down abortion clinics, smashing booby bars......
No worries, that won't effect me.

But then I wonder....
If a leader were to step up and only rule by the 10 Commandments...
What things that I love will be destroyed?
My hair salon.....Lots of juicy gossip going on?
Would the Twilight Series be burned?
Starbucks...definitely worshipers there.

Josiah was one amazing guy!
