Deuteronomy 28-29

A couple of short chapters, without anything extremely pertinent to share...
After reading through the blessings for obedience and the curses for disobedience, it certainly seems like an easy choice.  It most definitely makes me even more thankful for forgiveness!  Some of the curses are just plain scary.
We also read about the renewal of the covenant.  As long as the people followed all the terms of this covenant, they would prosper in all things.  Moses gives examples of what will happen to those who don't follow the covenant and the anger that will be brought upon the Lord.  I did like the final verse in Ch. 29: "The secret things belong to the Lord our God, but the things revealed belong to us and to our children forever, that we may follow all the words of this law."  I like to think that we sort of own the things that God has revealed to us.  We need to take ownership in these laws and abide by them, too.
