In Chapter 20 there was an Israelite by the name of Sheba that was attempting to take down David and rule the kingdom. He was unsuccessful and quickly put to death.
David attempted to make peace with people that were wronged by Saul.
Battles continued and David grew too old and weak to participate in the fight. His men were well prepared and were successful even without him fighting.
In Ch. 22 David sang a song of praise to the Lord. It is a great song about the Lord's faithfulness. He gives the Lord credit for his safety and salvation. The part that threw me off was when he was singing about his own goodness and lack of sin. Does he not remember how he obtained his wife, Bathsheba? Did he not see that as sinful, or does he considered himself forgiven by the Lord? Some think that this was written in his younger days. Either way, I like his song! This is also the words to Psalm 18.
